A Gastric Band operation is a procedure used to make the size of the stomach smaller so that the amount of food necessary for the stomach to "tell" the brain that the patient is full is considerably less.
Consequently the patient eats less and can then lose weight with little or no effort.
Although the advantages hare self explanatory, cons are numerous including the fact that this operation, as many others, carries risks. The post surgery side effects result in a considerable amount of pain, swelling, bruising and the cost ranges between £5K and 8K.
Hypnosis "apparently" offers a fantastic and considerably cheaper alternative to the Gastric Band operation; the "Hypnoband". The "Hypnoband" is basically the process of combining hypnosis, misdirection and the power of suggestion to make a person believe that he or she had actually undertaken a Gastric Band operation when it fact no surgery ever took place. The client is then made to forget all about the hypnosis session and arrangements and made to believe that a real surgical operation took place.
How is this possible? Quite simply, our unconscious mind is able to distort and delete part of the reality and create a different set of memories and beliefs with the related feelings, sensations and physical changes.
This type of hypnotherapy work can be applied with different methods and settings which offer considerably different results. The more realistic and accurate the gimmicks and the higher the chances for success are.
The big question is: What will happen once the client find out that no operation was actually performed?
Will the knowledge that no operation was actually ever performed neutralise the results?
Well, the matter of fact is that once the client knows that there had been no surgery, the beliefs "programmed" in his or her mind will inevitably change and return to recognise that his or her stomach is the same size it was before.
Certainly, the stomach will shrink if the client finds out the truth late enough for the stomach to shrink because of the lesser amount of food consumed. But what are the chances that the truth can be kept for so long? What are the chances that the client does not expect any form of folllow up from the docturs? What are the chances that the client will not question the lack of scaring? What are the chances that the client will not be told by friends and family members that no operation ever took place? I say slim, very slim.
Of course, if the you have an open enough mind to realise that if the appetite was reduced until you find out that no operation was performed, or even better realise that the appetite is reduced simply because of the fact that your mind has been "reprogrammed" to feel less hungry, then you can choose to believe that Hypnosis can make you feel that your stomach is no longer capable of eating as much as before. And this is very much possible.
Does the "Hypnoband" really work?
When it does, then it really does!
Does it work on everybody?
Categorically no.
Is the "Hypnoband" better than other hypnosis based weight loss therapies?
It may be for some and not for others.
Do we recommend it?
Although for some people the "Hypnoband" will work better than other forms of hypnosis based therapies, we do believe that other forms of hypnotherapy can work just as well if not better. However, for a small percentage of people the "Hypnoband" may be the most suitable approach.
The way we apply this type of therapy is much less controversial. We simply "reprogram" your mind to realise with ease that your stomach does not need as much food as it used to and that it can begin to feel satisfied with less food as this will provide you with greater benefits than the old behaviour of overeating did. Since your unconscious mind will benefit from this change, it will allow this to happen.
Adopting our more traditional model of therapy, we have received numerous feedbacks from our clients who reported weight loss of up to 5 pounds per week.
